The Study Quran: A New Translation and Commentary

This is something we worked on together for a decade. The experience showed me that it is amazing what you can accomplish by God’s grace if you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into. Would we have had the courage to start if we knew it would take ten years and almost all our scholarly attention? It is not what any one of us expected. Sometimes it is better for God to hide things from you.

The Ringstones of Wisdom (Fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam): Translation, Introduction, and Glosses

This is a project I took on when I was doing my masters and finished during my PhD work. I had just about completed the translation when Prof. Nasr mentioned that works like this require explanation to be understood, and that started me on the unexpected task of annotating the work from start to finish, based largely on the commentaries of Kāshānī and Qayṣarī. I’m still grateful to Kazi publications for giving me this chance to work on this daunting book and supplement my income at a time when I needed it.
